What is Happening With the Cleveland Grand Prix and Horse Show?

The Chagrin Valley PHA Horse Show Board of Directors (which runs the Cleveland Grand Prix) is in the process of building a new team. The past and present will unite for the future of the horse show. In 2015 America will celebrate 50 years since the first grand prix in North America.

A group of more than 60 enthusiastic people attended the “Rally for the 50th Anniversary” meeting with local trainer/Board members Cindy Foster, Liz Porter and Pat Swann. Behind the scenes the first order of business is to secure title sponsorship support and that effort is being led by trainer Megan Bash with support from Chairman Karen Schneider.

As long as funding is secured we can mark our 2015 calendars for opening weekend July 3, 4 and 5, competition for riders with disabilities July 6 and the regular show July 7-12, culminating with the 50th anniversary of the Cleveland Grand Prix Sunday afternoon July 12.

For 2014… read the book—The Cleveland Grand Prix, An American Show Jumping First and relive the history of each exciting year to present day and the story behind the scenes of the birth and growth of American grand prix show jumping. Learn about the last time the Cleveland Grand Prix was cancelled in 1994 and the horse show took a year off in 1995 to regroup and rebuild. A memorable comeback and new title sponsor boosted the Chagrin Valley PHA Horse Show to new heights in 1996!
